First and foremost, you need to figure out which artist you'd like to have turn your ideas into a reality!
Each of our artist, although very capable of various styles, tend to have their own unique way of turning those dreams into art. Take some time to look throughout our social media platforms and find which artist style best fits your ideas and personal vision for your tattoo.
If you're still not sure, shoot us a message, we'll meet with all artist and discuss your design ideas to set you up with the individual best suited for your needs.
Depending on the complexity of your design, an artist may ask you to come by the shop for an in-person consultation.
Consultations usually involve deciding on placement, design elements, measurements, etc needed for the artist to get a solid foundation to building your customized piece of art.
These are not only times for your artist to ask questions to better understand your vision, but a time for you to ask questions as well. Never hesitate to ask as many questions as you need to better understand how and why things are being done throughout your tattoo process. Our artist are more than willing to assist you in any way possible to make sure the entire process goes smoothly and as comforting as possible for you!
During the consultation process, whether over the phone, through email, or at an in-person visit, you will be able to schedule your appointment!
Appointment times and availability vary amongst the artist in our shop, however, each artist will discuss their openings with you so that we can find a time and date best fit for your schedule.
After you and your artist agree on a time and date for your appointment, a deposit to set that appointment is required (please see 'Deposit' tab on website for deposit information and payment forms accepted).
On the day of your appointment, we recommend a few things to make sure you have the best service and quality procedure possible.
1. First, and most importantly, eat! Whether your appointment is at opening or in the afternoon, please eat a healthy and filling meal prior to coming in to the shop. The tattooing process is a lot for your body to handle! Nerves, anxiety, and the trauma process requires a lot of energy for the body to successfully undertake. Having a healthy meal ensures your body has that needed energy! We also have complementary drinks/snacks at the shop should you want or need anything during your procedure.
2. Second, dress comfortably. Although not all tattoos take hours and hours to complete, you will still be stationary for quite some time. The more comfortable you are throughout the process, the better your body will handle it. We have plenty of blankets and pillows to aid in your comfort, but please feel free to bring anything you need to make the experience more comfortable.
3. Bring your Valid Photo ID. This is a state requirement and there will be a waiver you will need to fill out prior to your procedure. A copy of your valid ID will be copied onto the back of this waiver.
4. Last but not least, SPEAK UP. At Mystic Markings we pride ourselves on our quality experience and lasting impression on clients.
This is first and foremost "your day". If at any point you have a question in regards to your procedure, want to move the stencil, any step of the process, materials used, etc DO NOT hesitate to ask your artist.!!
Like most of you, we hate hearing the horror stories from client's past experiences from shops and/or artist that treated them in a negative way. We want to make sure your special day is just that, special.
